Meditation and mindfulness:
Destressifying by Davidji — an engaging, wise and often-personal account of the path to a less stressed-out existence.
The Science of Meditation by Daniel Goleman & Richard J. Davidson — also published as “Altered Traits“, this book takes a lively and deep dive into the science, not shying away from the detail, but staying highly readable throughout. We dip into this all the time.
Be Here Now by Ram Dass — a pop-cultural sensation when it was published in the ‘70s and still the best introduction to meditation and Eastern philosophy, as seen through the eyes of a freshly awakened Ram Dass.
Still Together by Manoj Dias — a vivid and accessible exploration of what it means to live a mindful life.
Breathwork:
Coming soon.
Philosophy:
Meditations by Marcus Aurelius — A window into the innermost thoughts of an Emperor, who explores what it is to live an ordinary life, written as if it was penned today.
We are always looking for new brilliant books, so let us know what you’d like to see in this list. Or send us your book! Inclusion does not mean a forever endorsement. We do receive a small affiliate commission if you purchase on Amazon via one of our links — this helps us to maintain the site. We otherwise strongly recommend you consider buying from a small independent book shop, or if you are ever at the studio, we have a lending library, so that we can look after the planet, and keep our paper books in people’s hands.
